Patients who arrived early at Instituto Mário Penna on August 6th were welcomed with a warm surprise: the Clothesline Solidarity. Pants, sweatshirt, and socks were hanging just inside the entrance. The rule was: take off your sweater and leave a message for the hospital staff.
The action was carried out with clothes donated by Instituto Galo. The Solidarity Clothesline was conceived and monitored by the Services Manager, Sérgio Lopes Magalhães, who insisted on taking care of all the details.
“I organized everything early. Our patients come from different cities and the day was quite cold. Their reaction to being greeted with warm clothes was surprising. Even in a mask, it was possible to see the smile in the eyes of each one of them. And they left messages thanking the hospital and the entire care team. It was exciting and very rewarding”.
