Instituto Mário Penna had its first Medical Residency Program approved by the National Residency Commission in 2001, in the specialty of Clinical Medicine.
From then on, through the commitment and training of its Clinical Staff, the excellence of the services offered by the Institution and the essential support of the directors of its units, the Institute was also recognized and accredited to train new doctors in the specialties of Anesthesiology, Surgical Cancerology, Clinical Cancerology, Cardiology, Head and Neck Surgery, General Surgery, Hematology and Hemotherapy, Mastology, Intensive Care Medicine, Radiotherapy and Urology .
The Mário Penna Institute’s Medical Residency Program also has a training course in Oncology Gynecology, a pioneer in Brazil and a reference for all related services.
Since the first medical residency created, around 500 new specialists who bear the name of the Mario Penna Institute have been trained, taking with them the acquired knowledge and, above all, humanized training throughout the country.
The growing demand from colleges throughout Brazil for the programs offered reflect their relevance, with an increasing number of candidates fighting every year for a place at the Mário Penna Institute.
