The Mário Penna Institute’s Medical Residency Committee (COREME) has been holding virtual Multidisciplinary Meetings with the aim of promoting discussions of clinical cases attended at the institution and, thus, providing the physicians with updates.
According to Dr. Ellias Lima, oncologist and Coordinator of COREME, the objective is to bring the clinical staff together, promote medical residency, plan treatments in a multidisciplinary way, update and promote knowledge. The meeting is online on a remote digital platform and involves resident physicians, assistant physicians and preceptors. They take place once a month, with educational support from the pharmaceutical industry.
The last meetings were on the following topics:
– 07/27: “Polytreated castration-resistant metastatic prostate cancer, state of the art in 2021, with the participation of Dr. Ellias Lima (Oncology Coordinator at IMP), Dr. Ana Carolina Pimenta (Oncologist at IMP) and Dr. Marta Rezende (Nuclear Physician at IMP). The meeting was supported by the Astrazeneca laboratory.
– 04/08: “Update on the treatment of advanced platinum sensitive ovarian cancer”, with the participation of Dr. Bárbara Marques (Clinical Oncologist at IMP), Dr. Suellen Peixoto (Gynecological Surgeon at IMP), Dr. Irsael Vilaça (Oncologist at IMP) and Dr. Oscar Araújo (Diagnostic Coordinator at Astrazeneca). Her meeting was supported by the Astrazeneca laboratory.
