The act of donating effectively contributes to transforming society, institutions and, above all, people for the better. By seeing the needs of others and doing something to meet them, we become more fair and egalitarian.
Donating goes far beyond “transferring for free to another person, legally, property, amount, property, etc.”: donating is an act of detachment, renunciation, surrender and love for others.
We are absolutely sure that the history of Instituto Mário Penna is intertwined with that of its donors and partners, as without them, nothing would be possible.
Donation
In the dictionary, to donate means “to transfer, for free to another person, legally, property, amount, property or advantages, etc. which was previously in his possession”. But we, at Instituto Mário Penna, know that donating is much more than that.
Over more than four decades of existence, Obra Mário Penna shows how this little word has managed to transform the lives of millions of people – whether they are patients or donors.
In 2016 alone, more than 1.3 million procedures were carried out and more than 280 thousand people were assisted, thanks to the help of society. These numbers reflect how together we can make a difference.
